Ascerta n8n Community Node

Overview

The Ascerta n8n community package, @ascerta/n8n-nodes-ascerta, provides AI Agent chat-model nodes that route requests through the Ascerta proxy. It also includes a standalone Ascerta Proxy node for calling supported providers from a regular workflow. Ascerta can track each request by use case, execution, step, and user.

Supported nodes

n8n nodeNode typeCredentials required
Ascerta Proxy@ascerta/n8n-nodes-ascerta.ascertaAscerta API; Ascerta Databricks API for Databricks requests
Ascerta OpenAI (Proxy)@ascerta/n8n-nodes-ascerta.lmChatAscertaAscerta API + OpenAI API
Ascerta Anthropic (Proxy)@ascerta/n8n-nodes-ascerta.lmChatAscertaAnthropicAscerta API + Anthropic API
Ascerta Azure AI Foundry (Proxy)@ascerta/n8n-nodes-ascerta.lmChatAscertaAzureAscerta API + Azure OpenAI API
Ascerta Amazon Bedrock (Proxy)@ascerta/n8n-nodes-ascerta.lmChatAscertaBedrockAscerta API + AWS
Ascerta Databricks (Proxy)@ascerta/n8n-nodes-ascerta.lmChatAscertaDatabricksAscerta API + Ascerta Databricks API

The Databricks credential and nodes are included in this package; no separate Databricks community package is required.

Install

Enable community packages in your self-hosted n8n instance. If you use these chat-model nodes as AI Agent tools, set N8N_COMMUNITY_PACKAGES_ALLOW_TOOL_USAGE=true in the n8n environment.

In n8n, open Settings > Community Nodes > Install a community node and enter @ascerta/n8n-nodes-ascerta.

For a manual installation, run:

cd ~/.n8n/nodes
npm install @ascerta/n8n-nodes-ascerta
# Restart n8n after installation.

For a custom container image, pin the version you have tested (replace 1.0.6 with your chosen version):

FROM n8nio/n8n:latest
RUN cd /home/node/.n8n/nodes && npm install @ascerta/[email protected]

Mount the n8n user directory as a persistent volume if your deployment needs to retain locally installed packages and configuration. For Kubernetes, build and deploy the updated custom image.

Configure credentials and run a workflow

Create an Ascerta API credential in n8n with your Ascerta API key and Base URL (for example, https://api.yourcompany.ascerta.com). The credential tests its connection when saved. Then create the upstream provider credential required by the node you plan to use. For Databricks, create the included Ascerta Databricks API credential using your workspace URL and personal access token.

To try the integration, add an AI Agent node to a workflow, attach one of the Ascerta chat-model nodes, select both credentials, choose a valid model or deployment, and run the workflow. The Use Case Name defaults to the workflow name; the Use Case ID defaults to the execution ID. See Configuring n8n Workflows for Ascerta for provider-specific settings.
